There are showers around western and southern coasts, some of these heavy in the south and merging to more persistent rain. Further cloud and gale force winds with rain in western Scotland and western Ireland. This afternoon sees the heavier showers again affecting the far south of England and the west of Wales and southwest England. Further cloud and rain for western Scotland as well as the far west of Ireland. Most areas remaining dry and bright, best sunshine in the east with more cloud tending to affect western parts as well as northern Scotland. Highs at 7C in northern Scotland, 10C in southeast England.
